Circus Hassani

Design for Print: Living Poster

To promote Circus Hassani’s summer season in Southwold

  • Featured in numerous awards shortlists for design craft.

Circus Hassani is circus royalty: Mina Houssain is the grand-daughter of Coco the Clown, and her parents launched Circus Hassani as Britain’s first animal-free circus, and then went on to run Chessington’s circus. It’s a wonderful gathering of international talent and a treat for families.

We wanted to do something as interactive, exciting and as charming as the circus itself. Our handmade “Living Poster” gives the opportunity to look through the curtains and see Hassani’s acts performing routines on some of the best-loved buildings in town.

Each layer was papercut by hand, and we made a stand using a laser cutter in which each layer of the design could sit, with LED lights mounted in each layer.  As the acts change yearly we will be able to remove and adapt each layer so that the design can evolve.
