Engagement: Remember when ..?
To highlight the fact that National Trust has thousands of acres of land to visit, as well as the historic buildings for which it is famous.
What do you associate with the National Trust? Stately Homes and cream teas?
You wouldn’t be alone – and, despite the fact that the National Trust’s first mission was to provide open spaces in which factory workers could stretch out and relax, that means that in a county where the organisation has thousands of acres of land but few buildings, they can slip under the radar. Which is exactly what had happened in Essex.
Spring created the emotionally compelling ‘Remember when…?’ campaign to remind the Essex audience about the sheer joy of running through woodland, climbing trees, wandering through meadows. Our ambition is to associate the National Trust with these life-enhancing outdoor pursuits, amply provided by sites across the county including Hatfield Forest, Danbury Common and Northey Island.
We designed and made an inflatable domed marquee, whose features include a bespoke sound and light show and play den for children, complete with craft wall.
Children are also catered for with our scribble game pads – Spring arranged for these and tens of thousands of campaign beer mats to be accepted by and distributed to pubs and cafes across the county.
The campaign was delivered through a targeted campaign throughout Essex, on adshels and bus sides as well as PR and social media. Spring’s even undertaken a content campaign, allowing us to share the joys of the Essex countryside with its residents.
